This has been invaluable when I’m doing research etc. GoodNotes also works with Apple Notes, I can swipe up from a corner of my iPad to take a QuickNote, and it’ll link directly to the GoodNotes page I’m viewing. The outline feature is HUGE and Notability straight up can’t compare. Having said that, GoodNotes is much more useable when it comes to large PDFs and textbooks. I have ADHD and it’s a significant game changer to be able to open the sidebar, see everything I need and still be able to hide everything else. With Notability, just scroll down the side/open up dividers.
Unless you already have a note open along the top (which gets crowded and borderline unusable after you open so many notes), you have to leave your note and wander around however many sub-folders you have to switch to another note. But also… I just like the pens/writing experience more. I’ll cancel Notability, Apple Notes/GoodNotes should be fine for my needs after graduation.
